Restoration activity

Restoration of the icon of the beginning of the XVI century. "St. Sergius of Radonezh".

Restoration of the icon of the beginning of the XVI century. "St. Sergius of Radonezh" was completed in May 2012. The icon was repaired and repaired several times, which greatly distorted the original appearance of the saint depicted on it.

Late painting of the XIX century. on the image of the face of the saint, rough detailes on clothes and the earth hid the author's painting with a complex modeling of forms and subtle color nuances built on the use of close natural tones.

Unfortunately, the author's painting on the image of the right hand of the saint was not preserved; therefore, a new insert was left here, but this does not violate the general impression of the image created almost five centuries ago. In the near future, the icon "St. Sergius of Radonezh" can be seen in the museum.
