The XX International Scientific Conference "Slavic traditional culture and the modern world"
On May 25-27, 2015, the XXth International Scientific Conference “Slavic Traditional Culture and the Modern World”, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the GCRF and the 15th anniversary of the scientific almanac “Traditional Culture”, was held at the State Republican Center for Russian Folklore. The conference is the result of many years of work of the RCRC on the study of Russian folklore and traditional culture in our country and abroad. The main goal of the jubilee conference is to sum up the results of this work and identify new challenges for the coming years.
The head of the Russian Folk Art of the XVIII-beginning of the 20th Century section of the Sergiyev Posad Museum-Reserve, Candidate of Historical Sciences Zhiguleva Valentina spoke in the conference with the report “The features of community in the women's folk costume of the Russian mecherians and Bulgaria from the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th centuries”. Within the framework of the conference, a round table discussion was held on the “Development of typical models of the activities of the Centers of Traditional Folk Culture, taking into account the ethnic and cultural characteristics of the regions”. It was attended by leading experts and experts in this field.
