The Virgin of Vladimir. Late 17th century
Wood, silver; painting, chasing, gilding
24.5 x21.5 cm
The icon entered the Trinity-Sergius Monastery in the early 18th century
from princes Priklonskikh, as evidenced by the inscription on the back
to the side. It was kept in the sacristy and used during
church service (may have been assigned to a lectern).
